The swirly quilting is pretty intensive and is taking seemingly forever. On the upside though, I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out and so pleased that I have worked out a good technique for filling in small spaces and making it look as though the swirls are continuing underneath the applique. Of course I still have a long way to go before my swirls look anything like these ones, but maybe in about 50 years I will have at least come half way.

That is really incredible - what on earth inspired you to take on such a mammoth task - how many of these are you doing all at once?!
ReplyDeleteI think you are WELL on your way to making fabulous swirls such as those. As a matter of fact - you're already there!! Great job on the quilting. Just curious... are you using a spray adhesive to hold your sandwich together? I noticed there are no pins in the photo. I often wonder about using a spray to hold small quilts together - but never tried it yet.
ReplyDeleteUmmm... I'm pretty sure your swirls are just as fabulous! I'm really impressed!
